About

Planting new churches is the most effective evangelistic methodology known under heaven.
— Peter Wagner

The Movement Churches Network (MCN) started as just a vision over 15 years ago. As Mark Artrip, pastor of Movement Church dreamed of starting a multiplying church planting network which would scatter the landscape of the greater Columbus area with healthy, gospel-centered churches. Each year, the MCN gets closer to the goal of 50 churches in 25 years, and to see life change and gospel saturation all over central Ohio.

The word movement means intentional or contagious and was chosen as our namesake because it embodies our goal for how we want to represent the love of Jesus and multiply the local church. We want to launch healthy churches that reproduce themselves exponentially.

Movement Church started in 2012 with a goal to “care about here AND there.” Our goal is not just to establish our personal roots but also to follow the pattern of starting churches that we see in the New Testament. We want to make a wake that makes it easier for healthy churches to be established We believe that the gospel should multiply new followers and new churches.

We started the Movement Churches network to nurture a family churches planting churches through relationships, residencies and resources.

We are actively looking for like-minded leaders who would be interested in planting reproducing gospel-centered churches. We are praying for more leaders to join our network and help saturate the gospel in the greater Columbus area.
