Movement Church

The road to Movement Church

I grew up in a conservative, close-knit, small town church leading music and loving my youth group. When I was 17, I went on a ministry training trip and was exposed to several different styles of church plants. After that summer, I committed to full-time vocational ministry believing that God wanted me to plant a life-giving church someday.

After college and seminary, my wife and I landed in the Columbus, Ohio area in student ministry. Over the next 7 years I cut my teeth in pastoral ministry through teaching, leadership and team building. We never lost sight of what God had put in our hearts and by 2012 we knew it was time to step out in obedience. The next year was filled with recruiting a launch team, raising funds, meeting with our launch team and launching public services on Easter 2013.

The vision of Movement Church is to be a movement of people finding their back to God. We believe the gospel multiplies itself in new believers, new groups, new leaders and new churches.

One of our prayers in the early days, was to create a wake that would help others start like-minded churches more easily. From the beginning we began setting aside 5% of our giving as well as some outside funds. We sent Three Creeks Church in 2017, Contrast Church in 2020 and God willing will send Bright City Church in the fall of 2024.

Current Church

After meeting in a dance studio and local YMCA for the first 10 years of our existence, we recently moved into our first permanent facility at 2881 Walker Rd. in Hilliard, Ohio. Our heart is still to embody the gospel, embrace community and empower others as we establish a legacy presence for Jesus.
